As every year, Los Pinos organized its Annual English Speech Contest that took place at the school auditorium on Tuesday, November 28th. Fifteen schools participated this year and all the students did a brilliant job analyzing the question sent by Wouter Simpson from International House “In the USA, 43% of kids have been bullied online. What can we do to prevent cyber bullying?”
The judges, who collaborated with us were; Mr. Karl Duckworth Cultural Attaché from the USA Embassy, Mr. Christian Vasquez from Cambridge University Press, Mr. Wouter Simpson from International House, and Mr. Luis Cerón from Pearson Ecuador.
The first prize winner was Mateo Sebastián Herrera Rueda from San Gabriel School, the second prize was for Isabella Carrillo León from Colegio Americano, and María Paula Arellano from Colegio Martim Cerere won the third prize. This year, thanks to the reputation our Speech Contest has gained through the years we had more sponsors and a fourth prize was awarded to Anna Carolina Happle Albornoz from Tomás Moro.
We also wanted to recognize the hard and important job teachers accomplish and a prize was raffled among the teachers from the participating schools.
We would like to congratulate all the participating schools, their students, and especially Sheyla López, our representative, for their outstanding performances. They all are winners!!!!!
